The Daintree rainforest being the Earth’s oldest standing complex mesophyll rainforest is somewhat unique, with thirteen of the world’s oldest living flowering plant species represented. You will find the ancestors for many species including the She Oak, Rhododendron and Gardenia all here in our lush tropical Far North Queensland.

Wild life abounds

Held in the highest esteem, this is the only place on earth where two World Heritage Listed areas lay side by side, The Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Together they are two of only four areas known to man, that act in accordance with all five categories for Heritage Listings.

The canopy extends 35 metres above the ancient forest floor. The near 300 degree views from the highest branches stretch far beyond the imagination out to the reef, across to Mt. Sorrow and falls clear of the horizon.

Amythyst Python

Here we find the homes of a large variety of native forest animals nestled quietly out of site. Goannas, Boyd’s Forest Dragon, Bandicoots, Beetles, Tree Kangaroos, Cassowaries and hundreds of different bird species are just some of the delights that may catch your eye.

It is without a doubt a magical feeling to walk through this protected piece of natural history - a real beauty.
