Jungle Treehouse
Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the heart of Cape Tribulation is surrounded by the pristine Daintree Rainforest and is the perfect home base to enjoy tyrolean traverse canopy tours, great barrier reef diving tours, 4wd tours, bush walking and birdwatching.

The name truly describes this large open style pole home built amongst towering trees deep in the heart of Cape Tribulation, North Queensland, Australia.

Downstairs the slate tiled floors lead you from the red Cedar furnished bedrooms, across an open dining area, past red tulip oak bars and large free form silky oak tables, to tropical gardens, complete with fruit trees, ferns, gingers and wild flowers.

Beyond you enter an ancient world of silent giants, gurgling streams, twittering and chirping birds, buzzing and humming insects and a cacophony of singing, chattering wildlife.

Birds of paradise, rare frogs, egg laying mammals, forest dragons, amethyst pythons and a myriad of bizarre preying mantis, crickets and arachnids are to name a few.

Upstairs from the large Queenslander style verandah, the views stretch over and through the rainforest canopy to the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea.
All bedrooms upstairs are timber, furnished, and open onto the verandah. All rooms in the Queenslander pole home have ceiling fans and are also screened.
Both bathrooms have slate tile floors, Downstairs the walls are fashioned out of river rock.

All facilities are within walking distance. Restaurants and bars, pristine coral lined beaches, Dubuji and Cape Tribulation boardwalks are examples, Jungle Adventures Cape Trib operates out of the Jungle Treehouse.

A variety of guided bush walks, both day, night and special early morning bird walks are available all taking place through the extensive mature rainforest on the properties.

Personalised attention is also available on many of the other activities such as four wheel drive trips to Bloomfield Falls and/or Cooktown, dive trips to the Great Barrier Reef (departing Cape Tribulation beach), sea kayaking skirting fringing coral reefs and around Cape Tribulation itself, horse rides through the rainforest and out across Myall beach into the sea.

Jungle Treehouse Cape Trib is an excellent choice for avid bird watchers with many species viewable from the verandahs. The ideal time for bird watching is from December to March when many of the migratory birds arrive or pass through from Asia and New Guinea. We have some great links to birding sites on our Rainforest page.

The resident guide and director of Jungle Adventures, Stephen Walsh received the Ron Kenny and James Blake awards for excellence in Zoology and Marine Science after four years study at the tropical James Cook University. Since then he has spent nine years living in, exploring, researching and guiding in the Cape Tribulation, Daintree River localities. Also as an experienced professional nature photographer, he may be able to advise on those elusive nature images.

Only 2 hours from Cairns, along a very scenic coast road, and just over an hour from Port Douglas, transfers can be arranged on one of the available shuttle services, or personalised transfer is possible with adequate notice.

Full Australian cooked breakfasts are served with a tropical theme.

The accommodation unfortunately is not suitable for young children or infants. Jungle Treehouse Cape Trib B & B is a non-smoking environment.

The Treehouse is perched almost 200 metres (over 600 feet) above sea level on the mountain slopes, offering a milder, cooler, less humid climate than those in the lowlands below.

The Jungle Treehouse runs on renewable energy generated by sun and water (hydro and solar electricity). we are currently in the process of establishing a permaculture farm.

In the future we hope to become self sufficient. Eventually we also hope to have mapped the botanical, faunal, geophysical and physicochemical properties of the area to allow a better understanding of, and greater ability to protect, the huge bio diversity of the ecosystems that surround us.
